Product Architect / Project Engineer
“I have been working at MST Group for three years now. As Project Engineer / Product architect I work on a variety of projects, from developing autonomous driving technology to large machines such as HDD (Horizontal Direction Drill) for infrastructure projects. The variety and challenging projects give me the space to really use my knowledge, which I find incredibly valuable.
At MST Group we follow the Lean Engineering principle which is the basis for our project approach but in addition you get the freedom to apply it yourself in your project approach. A good example of this is how we apply lean engineering: you start by asking the customer questions, make function trees and matrixes to clarify choices and support the customer in making well-founded choices, and only then do you start on the detailed design. This approach ensures that you not only achieve a good result faster, but that everyone in the project understands why certain choices were made and that the end result is actually what the customer is looking for.
What many people don't know is how much innovation is involved at MST Group. We work on very nice projects for large companies, and you also often visit the (end) customer on location, sometimes even internationally. For example, I worked on a project for an autonomous driving truck, where I regularly went to Sweden to discuss the project and the results. These international contacts are also a nice aspect of my work that I would not want to miss.
What makes MST Group attractive to me as an employer is the space you get to develop yourself and the responsibility you soon get. If you need guidance, it is always there. At the beginning of the HDD project, I stepped into the middle of the process, and then we had several sparring sessions to determine together how best to approach the project. That openness and willingness of management to support you is really a plus.
I have one important tip for new colleagues: be clear about your ambitions and show initiative. A lot is possible here, but you have to indicate yourself where you want to go ”
